Day 1 - January 2

Welcome Home – Embracing Ghana’s Spirit

Welcome to Ghana! The journey begins with guests arriving in Accra and experiencing the warmth of Ghanaian hospitality from the moment they land. After a seamless hotel transfer and time to rest, gather with fellow travelers for a group dinner to make introductions, set intentions for the journey ahead, review the itinerary, and prepare to embark on an experience that blends culture, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Day 2 - January 3

Accra city tour

Spend the day exploring the heart of Accra with a guided tour that showcases the city’s rich history, from Independence Square and the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum to the vibrant activity of Makola Market. The day provides context for Ghana’s journey from independence to its present-day progress, offering a grounding before diving into the entrepreneurial landscape. We’ll close the day with a festive cultural dinner and official welcome remarks.

Day 3 - January 4

higher education & innovation

Fly north in the afternoon to Kumasi, the capital of Ghana’s Ashanti Region, for an immersive engagement at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), one of Africa’s premier institutions for technology and applied research. The visit includes guided tours of innovation labs, meaningful interaction with students and faculty, and dialogue around opportunities for collaboration. In the evening, gather for a dialogue, then spend the night in Kumasi.

Day 4 - January 5

Higher education & innovation

Begin the day at KNUST with a deeper dive into the university’s innovation ecosystem. Meet with academic and innovation leaders, tour additional labs and incubators, and explore how faculty and students are advancing applied research and technology-driven ventures. Participate in a collaborative dialogue on partnership and exchange opportunities. In the early evening, return to Accra and close the day with an evening panel featuring successful Diaspora professionals.

Day 5 - january 6

diaspora entrepreneurship in action

Participants engage in guided dialogue to gain insight into Ghana’s entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystems. The day begins with a visit to a local tech startup, where participants meet Ghana’s new wave of entrepreneurs and learn how founders are building sustainable, impact-driven businesses. In the afternoon, explore the Accra Arts Centre, offering a powerful lens into Ghana’s creative economy and its contributions to innovation, identity, and enterprise.

Day 6 - January 7

Diaspora Investment Insights

Begin the day with a high-level briefing from government officials on business incentives, investment opportunities, and Ghana’s digital economy agenda. Explore how Diasporans navigate business formation and market entry. In the afternoon, tour a local innovation hub to understand how residents and Diaspora returnees alike are creating opportunity, while gaining insight into expatriation, market entry, and long-term engagement in Ghana.

Day 7 - January 8

Manufacturing & Tech Entrepreneurship

Spend the first part of the day visiting a production facility operated by a Ghana-based sustainability product manufacturer, gaining firsthand insight into how manufacturing environments are established and scaled in an emerging market context. In the second half of the day, engage with local sustainability entrepreneurs who are transforming waste management across urban markets in Africa through innovative, circular-economy solutions that address both environmental and economic challenges.

Day 8 - January 9

Innovation Beyond the Capital

Travel east to Ho, the capital of Ghana’s Volta Region, where natural beauty meets entrepreneurial ingenuity. Tour eco-tourism and hospitality ventures, meet with regional founders, and discover how innovation takes shape beyond the capital city. Settle in at the Volta Serene Hotel for the evening and enjoy a cultural dinner with local officials against a backdrop of rolling hills.

Day 9 - January 10

Traditional Leadership & Governance

Engage in dialogue with traditional leaders to deepen understanding of the chieftaincy system and its ongoing role in community development and governance. Visit a local agricultural manufacturing facility to see the regional industry in action. The day concludes with an evening salon, The Future of African Innovation Ecosystems, bringing together voices from across sectors to share bold visions for what lies ahead before returning to Accra.

Day 10 - January 11

Closing Reflections & Departures

Spend the final morning in Accra with time to reflect and recharge. Guests may opt for a wellness-focused morning along the coast for journaling and personal reflection. In the afternoon, we’ll gather for a closing group meal, share takeaways, and commit to next steps that will carry the journey forward. The program concludes with airport transfers for departing flights. Departures mark the beginning of sustained engagement with Ghana and the African Diaspora.
