Day 1 - January 2
Welcome Home – Embracing Ghana’s Spirit
Arrive in Accra and feel the warmth of Ghanaian hospitality from the moment you step off the plane. After a seamless hotel transfer and time to rest, gather with fellow travelers for a welcome dinner, where you’ll set intentions for the journey and prepare to embark on an experience that blends culture, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
Day 2 - January 3
Entrepreneurship & Innovation Orientation
After a day of arrivals and rest, we’ll engage in discussion and dialogue to offer insights on Ghana’s entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystems. This day will set the stage for how emerging market contexts provide unique startup opportunities and offer novel solutions at scale. We’ll close the day with a festive cultural dinner and official welcome remarks from Dr. Isaac Addae and Robert Turner.
Day 3 - January 4
Accra City Tour
Spend the day exploring the heart of Accra with a guided tour that showcases the city’s rich history, from Independence Square and the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum to the vibrant activity of Makola Market. The day provides context for Ghana’s journey from independence to its present-day progress, offering a grounding before diving into the entrepreneurial landscape.
Day 4 - January 5
Entrepreneurship in action
Meet Ghana’s new wave of entrepreneurs, starting with Crescendo Foods, a hub supporting founders in the agribusiness sector, before joining a curated small business expo showcasing local innovators. In the afternoon, engage directly with tech startups at one of Accra’s leading innovation hubs, then cap the day with a networking session that connects you to the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Day 5 - january 6
higher education & innovation
Fly north to Kumasi for an immersive day at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), one of Africa’s premier institutions for technology and applied research. Tour cutting-edge innovation labs, interact with students and faculty, and explore avenues for collaboration and exchange. As the evening unfolds, settle into a fireside chat on Building the Next Generation of African Innovators, followed by an overnight stay in Kumasi.
Day 6 - January 7
Diaspora Investment Insights
Begin the day with a high-level briefing from government officials on business incentives, investment opportunities, and Ghana’s digital economy agenda. In the afternoon, tour a local entrepreneurial hub to understand how residents and returnees alike are creating opportunities, while gaining insight into the realities of expatriation and Diaspora engagement. Return to Accra in the late afternoon and close the evening with a dynamic panel of Diaspora professionals who have successfully built careers and companies in Ghana.
Day 7 - January 8
Manufacturing & Tech Entrepreneurship
Spend the first part of the day visiting a production facility of a Ghana-based product manufacturer to learn about how manufacturing environments are established. In the second half, connect with local tech entrepreneurs who are scaling innovative businesses.
Day 8 - January 9
Innovation Beyond the Capital
Travel east to Ghana’s Volta Region, where natural beauty meets entrepreneurial ingenuity. Tour eco-tourism and hospitality ventures, meet with regional founders, and discover how innovation extends beyond the capital city. Settle in at the Volta Serene Hotel for the evening and enjoy a cultural dinner with local innovators in the backdrop of the region’s rolling hills.
Day 9 - January 10
Traditional Leadership & Governance
Engage in dialogue with tribal leaders to gain a deeper understanding of the chieftaincy system and its ongoing role in community development and governance. Visit a local manufacturing plant to see the regional industry in action before returning to Accra in the late afternoon. The day concludes with an evening salon, The Future of African Innovation Ecosystems, where voices from across sectors share bold visions for what lies ahead.
Day 10 - January 11
Closing Reflections & Departures
Spend your final morning in Accra with time to reflect and recharge before departure. Guests may opt for a wellness-focused morning along the coast for journaling and personal reflection. In the afternoon, we’ll gather for a celebratory closing meal with innovation partners, sharing takeaways and committing to next steps that will carry the journey forward. The program concludes with airport transfers for departing flights, but departures are more than goodbyes; they mark the beginning of sustained engagement with Ghana and the global African Diaspora.
